Right/Left: Offensive End opposite the Wingback is split out.
Double Tight: Both Offensive Ends align tight to tackles; Wingback to one side or the other.
Slot: Offensive Offensive End on Wingback side is split out; Wingback may only extend half the distance from tackle to the offensive end (cannot replicate a "twins" formation).
Pro: Backs in I or Split backs, with an end split on one side of the formation and the wingback flanked out on the opposite side of the formation.
Approved Offensive Backfield Formations:
"I" - both backs behind the QB
"Offset I" - FB behind QB; TB behind the OG/OT
"Proset/Veer" - TB/FB behind the OG/OT
Approved Offensive Plays:
Wingback Counter: Exchange between QB and Wingback must occur behind original line of scrimmage.
Option: Option must occur behind the original line of scrimmage
All plays must be run out of IYFL approved formations. Questions about whether a formation is legal or not should be addressed to an IYFL Officer prior to use.
Offense must have seven (7) players on the line of scrimmage.
Quarterback must receive snap from under center.
Quarterback is the only player allowed to throw the football.
No double passes.
Wingback must by lined up no more than 1 yard wide and 1 yard deep in base formations. In slot formation, Wingback may only extend half the distance from tackle to the offensive end (cannot replicate a "twins" formation).
Illegal Formations: Twins, Trips, Single Back backfields, Unbalanced lines.
Offensive Line Splits: Splits must be no wider than Offensive Lineman able to touch hands when arms extended.
